Veterinary Physiotherapy - South West London and Surrey

Sally Coulthard Chartered Veterinary Physiotherapist MSc, MCSP, ACPAT cat A was brought up on a farm in Cumbria and has been surrounded by farm and domestic animals all her life.

From an early age Sally was fortunate to own her own ponies and horses and was an active member of the local pony and riding club. During this time Sally competed both individually and as a team member for the dressage, showjumping and horse trial teams.

She furthered equestrian and stable management skills by obtaining BHS stages 1&2 which allowed her to work as a riding instructor both in the UK and in America as part of the British University North America Club.

Sally trained as a Chartered Physiotherapist at St Georges Hospital Medical School, London obtaining a Bsc (Hons) degree before completing an MSc in Veterinary Physiotherapy at the Royal Veterinary College.

During the MSc course Sally completed clinical training days with ACPAT cat A members transferring human physiotherapy skills to the assessment and treatment of animals. Sally also had the pleasure of using Equinalysis - a gait analysis system during her MSc thesis to investigate lameness parameters at a trot. Sally hopes to take her research forward to highlight the need for further improvements in the quality of services that both veterinary surgeons and physiotherapists are able to offer to clients, for example through the accurate analysis of pre and post physiotherapy treatment outcomes.

Sally also works for on-track physiotherapy Ltd at the headquarters of horse racing in Newmarket treating mostly pre race-training horses and also assists a local veterinary physiotherapist in her home area

As a Chartered Veterinary Physiotherapist, Sally adheres to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy's regulations and standards of practice and has professional and public liability insurance. She works closely with the Veterinary profession and other specialists to provide the highest standard of care for your animal and all animals are assessed only with veterinary referral or consent
